Children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing are achieving outcomes far beyond what many believed was ever possible. Here at Sound Speech, we believe that families play the most important role in their child's outcomes. Our services center around coaching parents and caregivers to incorporate speech, language, and auditory strategies into a multitude of daily routines to maximize their child's success. Families actively participate in all therapy sessions at Sound Speech and activities and suggestions are provided for carry-over into the home environment.
OUR APPROACH:
Sound Speech is one of the only private practices in New Jersey that offers expertise in both an auditory-verbal approach and a total communication approach. Sound Speech believes that there is no "one size fits all" when it comes to choosing a communication option for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Families should feel free to choose whatever communication option they believe would work best for their child. With expertise in both auditory verbal therapy and American Sign Language, Sound Speech has the unique ability to meet the needs of all families regardless of their communication approach.
